Two years ago we took part in the World Record attempt for the most number of drummers drumming. The event raised over £65,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis society in the UK and hit the headlines worldwide. 600 drummers all playing the same beat at the same time in the same place was an astonishing feat.
More astonishingly it was the idea of one person, Rick Prince. Ably assisted by just his wife Karen and friend Craig Glover between them they organised the registration, venue, well-known celebrities, PR, the lot. When we learned how much time they'd put in for such a good cause we offered Wilson Digital's service for free if they ever decided to do it again.
Well here we are in 2011 and with a date and venue to be annouced they're looking for 600+ drummers again. This time though you can register directly on the new site at www.stickittoms.com. You can just be a part of the community or you can sign up to play, all in the same place. There's even a merchandise section.
Here's to raising the roof and even more money than last time.
